Airport Bar And Grill (Closed Permanently) Formerly: Airport Tavern

(9 Ratings)
Never a cover to be paid at this neighborhoody spot
The shining beacon that is No Cover draws them in and the low, neighborhood-tavern prices keeps 'em there. One of many taverns along this strip of South Tacoma Way, originally U.S. Route 99, the Airport Bar & Grill satisfies every hole-in-the-wall need a gay, thirsty traveler may have on a rainy Friday night.

Not your average Bar

JJL716 There are no words for the review you gave. Clearly you have not been to the Airport bar and grill but maybe a couple times...Your lack of knowledge on the bar is ridiculous and your so called facts on the bar is incorrect. Never on a normal daily basis does the Airport Ever charge a entry fee. . Fees are only on Event nights for fundraising to give back to the community whether it is Aids housing, or breast cancer awareness. The Bartenders are Friendly countless times people have returned to the bar for the hospitality they get at the Airport they enjoy getting to know the amazing people they encounter serving them. The owners of that bar would give anything to put a balcony or something of that sort but where would they place it... The airport customers come back for the outstanding service they get and the environment they are in. next time you choose to write a review on the Airport without following up on your facts be smart about it!

Check your facts JJl16

Ok, first of all the Airport is NOT owned by a lesbian couple. The owner of the bar is a the most generous man I have ever met and he is amazing. Jack would do more for his customers, not just the regulars but for anyone. There is an amazing community here at the Airport that you have to be here to be a part of. We are all family and treat each other as such. Also, soft drinks are NOT $3.00 a piece. Dude, what planet are you from? Did you not check any facts before posting or did you just pull anything you wanted out of your ass? Seriously? Oh and since when did the Aiport charge a cover? Hmm. Oh yes, that one time that they did a show for the Breast Cancer Society and any cover was voluntary. The Airport has NEVER required a cover unlike the other gay bar in Tacoma that requires a cover AND is straight owned, with the mentality that gays are lesser people that just make them money. Yes. In the past there may have been a bartender or two that socialized too much with friends and didn't understand all of the aspects of customer service. That was due to the ower giving someone a job that was down on his luck and a didn't have the experience. That particular person is no longer here and ALL of the bartenders are top notch and right on their game. As much as we would all love to have an outdoor patio, where would you like us to put it? On the right hand lane of South Tacoma Way? Maybe the traffic would veer out of our way while we are enjoying the outdoors but most realistically we would be ran over and become road kill. As far as touching nothing...your probably the one that doesn't wash hands when going to the bathroom and spreading crap all over because the bar is cleaned several times a week and we are all one big, happy, healthy family. Thank you and have a nice day. RDG

Did my previous reviews cause this? GOOD!

Bar owners should be aware that their employees can ruin their business when customers aren't getting the proper service (see 1st review).
