We have had the honor of seeing first hand, the positive impact this event has had on the lives of its participants. Many of the participants are fortunate enough to have wonderful support from their family and friends, but the ones that don’t, blossom in ways you can’t imagine during the preparation and pageant process. It’s not about vanity or competition, it’s about regaining a feeling of wholeness and personal identity that is lost during the clinical process of chemo therapy, clinic visits; of doctors poking and prodding you; needles and bags of foreign fluids, and large cold machines.
The way we determine the Living Pink Queen is which ever Contestant raises the most funds for Carol Milgard Breast Center First Look Voucher Program wins. This program gives Free Mammograms to those that can't afford or are unisured. Early detection is key.
